Excript from 'Memory places' exhibition guide- 'You are invited to explore the Cathedral precincts, from the sunlit colonnades of the Cloisters, the echoes of the Chapter House, the tranquil arches of the Water Tower, towards the shadows of the Dark Entry, to locate site responsive works by 26 artists currently studying Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts at Canterbury. The relationship between our experience of space and the processes of memory have been described since ancient times, with the classical Greek method of loci, or memory journey.  Using the interplay between form and space, light and shadow and the architectural framings of these interconnected spaces, the artworks and their considered placement in this historic site evoke the elusive nature of memory, where the past intertwines with the present, shaping our understanding of the world.'
'Mother Mary' is a celaborative work for that bridges my practice’s exploration of religious mythology with the Catholic Church’s veneration of Mary as the ultimate maternal figure. The piece reimagines symbolic narratives to reflect inner states of vulnerability, resilience, and the ultimate transformation. By engaging with Mary's image, I sought to not only honour her as a revered Holy icon, but also as a young mother and human being.
